  • Hey, that is an attitude that comes from truely accepting and being liberated. It takes time but that is the ultimate position we all need to reach. my universal vitiligo started ten years ago and I am 95% white except a few spots on my hand and some on my face and neck area. I don't even want to remember the first few years with vitiligo, for me it was very stressful it took several years for me to accept and liberate myself. I am proud to say that I have reached deep within me to assure myself that I am a better person because of it.
  • Well, it's mainly on my hands so far, but the spots I do have are having quite the growth spurt at the moment. I don't know how I reactivated them. I had more white areas on my knees and a dot on my neck and elbow as a child, but those seem to be gone now. My biggest one is on my right wrist and has almost doubled in area in the past few weeks alone. It was shaped exactly like Asia from China down, but now has a big dangling spot like a tiny Australia tried to hide under it. The progress is really good on my fingers and thumbs, too.

But wouldn't a doctor just give me whitening cream? I don't like artificial chemicals. I was wondering if there were any more suspects on the 'causes it' or 'worsens it' list.

It's like a living tattoo. What's not to like?
    • That's certainly one way to look at it.

Only the Latin people on the site may get the reference but Condorito flips upside down every time he hears something that completely takes him by surprise. It's usually on the last frame of the comic.
      • Alex that cartoon is so cute. Can you send me the html code for it or tell me where I can find it?
        • Thanks. That's just something I mocked up quickly to blow off some steam. Because you gotta laugh about this stuff at some point or else you'll drive yourself crazy.

You can just right click and get the image url but here it is in case your browser doesn't let you.
          • Laugh or choose to enjoy it. Like poverty. You can whine about not being able to find meaningful employment and slowly starving, or you can revel in the liberty of absolute anonymity and freedom to go anywhere and do any silly thing that comes to mind. No matter how life tries to snap us, we always have a choice to either freak out or throw away the ropes that hold us to the things that hurt. It's called serenity and it's probably the best coping mechanism available, as long as you can reason, too. Of course poverty is no way to live and of there is a way out, one should scramble and claw to get a better life. But for many people who are genuinely stuck in their ruts with no way out, it's better to smile than let stress add to one's burdens. Who among us, by worrying, can add a day to our lives?
            • 'It's like a living tattoo. What's not to like?' Love it! That's what I like most about my Vitiligo :D
Great attitude, that's what we all need to adapt ourselves to :D
    • My best and safest advice to you is go to a dermatologist. A good doctor is not going to give you what you want with out first finding out what else is going on with you. He could give you a cream that will cause other problems. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful to you but I hope you will find what you are looking for.
  • This is a first I have heard of anyone asking how to help spread their vitiligo. Depending on how much vitiligo spots you have on your body, you can talk to your doctor about getting something to speed up the process.
