Hi All,
Please see as follows a step by step on how to build your own UVB-NB hand held. The big advantage of this product is the fact that you can use 1 or 2 bulbs. It means 9w or 18w (2 x 9w).
Recommendations:
1- Please don't use it without a doctor's supervision.
2- Please don't make money with this knowledge.
Step by step:
1- Buy the following car work light ($ 29)
2- Buy the UVB-NB bulbs, 1 or 2, it's up to you ($ 40):
3- Remove the acrylic transparent cover.
4- Replace the original 13W bulbs for the 9W UVB-NB bulbs carefully. It's trick. You have to bend the bulb before attaching or detaching.
5- During phototherapy session, remove the acrylic cover. It filters UVB-NB wave lengh.
6- Wear safety glasses during the whole session. Buy one ($ 2.75) at:
7- Good luck.

I bought the phillips handheld UVB and have been using it for 2 months on my face/jaw. Also using pro topic with it. It is finally starting to pigment. Thank goodness. You really have to be careful with it because you don't think its getting pink until a few hours later and then you went too long ,because its a bit burned. I do this at least 3-4 days a week. I'm not sure what caused mine to spread, but I have a few thoughts. Either chlorine from a pool ( went to Mexico), botox ( although had it for over a yr), change of thyroid medicine ( synthroid to armour). These things happened around the same time. When it spread IT SPREAD quick. I have since switched back to synthroid and the spreading has stopped. I also take lots of vitamins.
Julianna, you are right about the burning risks. I recommend you to check the 2 following posts:
