OK, so this summer the vitiligo on my arms has been spreading, and this time, the patches have inflamed edges as they spread. Due to chemical allergies, I started using natural zinc oxide sunscreens.
COULD THIS VITILIGO SPREAD ACCOMPANIED BY RAISED, RED EDGES BE RELATED TO THE ZINC SUNSCREEN IN ANY WAY? Are there any studies going on that address mineral sunscreens and people with vitiligo? Is this reaction a new sensitivity to the sun? After having vit for over 15 years, why this new symptom? I'm NOT going to dermatologist because when I have, they NEVER seem to know ANYTHING about vitiligo.
