  • Hi, I have had some success with re pigmentation after going gluten free, for a few months at least. Also check your b vits anti oxs (omega3), vit d, and keep your liver good. (Alcohol is like fuel to the fire for vitiligo) . There is a fantastic book called Clean Gut which explains a lot about how your immune function is regulated in the gut, and the whole gluten thing. For me it's just a source of inflammation, not celiac but when I went off it the doc wanted to halve my thyroid meds within 3 months of the change so it hpjust doesn't agree with me. Food diary and supplement diary could be a big help. Fresh green veg as much to get your nutrition high As poss, watch out that high protein diet is too acidic. Check out the alkaline diet, dr Robert o young, also had vit.
  • I am reading some of the comments here and I also have read that gluten can be related to autoimmune diseases. I have no stomach issues at all and no bowel issues so it makes me think I do not have a problem with gluten so wondering if giving up gluten would help. How difficult is it to eat well and not eat gluten? I appreciate your comments. Thank you

    • I had no stomach issues at all, well headaches, depression, muscle, bone, joints pain, constipation, depression, gluten kills and in soooo many different ways...

      • I also have migraines, joint pain, etc.

Read that article, many people get sick on vegan diets, paleo is wonderful, I'm not paleo because I can not afford all organic and non grain fed meat, but I mainly eat meats, eggs, seafood, fruits and lots of vegetables, I never felt better...I eat lots of eggs, feel good and they keep me satisfied for a long time, they have everything you need except vit c, have some strawberries and you got everything you need! The same for greek yogurt a little goes a long way...

      • I am starting gluten free today. I am going to do Paleo/Primal for now.  I may keep eggs and greek yogurt for now just to ease into the transition.  I just do not feel well and after years on a primarily vegetarian or vegan diet, I am really starting to wonder if that's not the cause of a lot my not feeling well and maybe the vitiligo.

  • Is working for me! You have to be 100% gluten free, because vitiligo is an autoimmune disease, it starts in the gut, leaky gut, do your own research. Going gluten free can be the cure for many autoimmune conditions. I take B12 and now I'm taking 10 min of sunlight daily, before I was gluten free I could not stand sunlight, and it did not help.

    • Recovery is also slowly....
    • If you go GF and feel better in 30 days, then that is a confirmation in itself that gluten is a poison for your body, the problem is people want to see changes overnight, gluten affected our bodies slowly, the rec
    • I started repigmenting after more than a year, be patient, your gut needs to heal, no cheating, no gluten, lots of proteins, vegetables, fruits...
