although al-Shurafa was cleared for release, and was compliant
throughout his detention, he still ended up held in isolation in a cell
in Camp 6 for 22 to 23 hours a day. Throughout his life, he has
suffered from vitiligo, a painful skin complaint, and his permanent
isolation from sunlight made his skin condition flare up horribly,
causing maddening discomfort, as well as permanent skin damage.
According to his lawyers, although he was well regarded by both the
guards and by his fellow prisoners, leading prayers in his cell block,
he was deeply concerned that he would never see his elderly mother
again, and also showed signs of depression, asking the authorities for
medication to “let the days go by without feeling anything.”
As you see in the article above, al-Shurafa claimed that his Vit was painful for him. Has anyone every felt any physical paint from their Vit??? Or is this guy full of crap?
thanks

beside making an assumption out of nothing is wrong !!
vitiligo is painful to anyone in the world not to mention when you get locked up in the most "un" humanitarian place on earth
this is the first time i've heard anyone claim physical pain from Vit.
not emotional anguish, depression, or feeling like an outsider, but physical pain, and requesting medicine to alleviate the pain. my question is has ANYONE else on here had similar symptoms.
i dont think any prison is set up to be a humanitarian place. sort of the nature of the place.
am not gonna be dragged to this amateur - funny assumption , neither debate if sleeping on dog pee is " the nature of the place " as its not my job to reeducate others !
but for future reference , when you say somebody is claiming this and that , try to prove that by quoting the man
since thats the FIRST issue of physical pain i've ever heard about with our disease, i was ASKING others, if they have suffered any physical pain also. it's called fact finding.
if you dont want to respond, you dont have to. it's a free internet. couldnt care less. i wasnt asking for a debate about prison conditions, i asking about others histories dealing with vitiligo.
