My hands have been the hardest part of my body to see any progress with re-pigmentation... i know hands/feet are the hardest areas to treat. Wondering if anyone has had luck with regimenting hands. I bought a UVB wand to use at home since my insurance wont cover UVB therapy at the physicians office. That has helped on other areas. But my hands not so much. At first the white spots would turn slightly pink with a couple minutes treatment. Now im up to 5 minutes and they dont even turn pink... so i may need to up the amount of time for UVB. Its frustrating.
My current regimen:
Vit B complex
Probiotic
Turmeric
UVB Light therapy 3x per week
Protopic daytime
RX Sterriod oitment at night
Bentonite detox clay

You got it, Kevin. Camaraderie is key.
Kevin, after you try all those things ... be sure to let us know. Be aware the person giving you advice lists himself here as 勇気, so when your doctor asks you who and why, you'll be able to say, "Well some guy on the Internet told me to."
My tagline in these forums should be "Vitiligo: Books, crooks, creams, and dreams" because honestly it is what we all have experienced, or will, by the time our journey with this disease is over.
We will have followed countless plans, and will have listened to a barrage of self-appointed "experts," some of whom are constantly "in your face" insisting their way is right, but becoming very defensive when asked for a body of evidence, pictures of success, evidence of longevity, verifiable testimonials, real numbers and proof.
We will have expended our treasures on potions and pills, or we will have used home-made and makeshift gadgets. There is an element out there who will be ready to take our treasure, one way or another. Some will dispense their "sage wisdom" with great authority and certainty, without having results to prove it. It isn't their hide at stake, after all. And if they manage to hit the nail on the head, so to speak, at your suffering and trials, oh the fame for them.
My advice to you is to be careful and selective on whose advise you take, until you receive durable proof from others who have invested themselves and their funds and quite possibly their health and happiness. Demand that proof. You might find yourself not using your hands and all these other things because some guy on the Internet told you to. My suggestion to you, as much as you want these things to work, is to ask for substantiated cases and proof before you hobble your hands and gulp supplements.
By the way, my experience is similar to yours regarding my hands.
Hang in there, Kevin.
Tom
Thanks for the support Tom!
What measures are you taking to reduce oxidative stress?
According to your list, none of them are specific to.
If your body is oxidized, even 10-15 minutes will not turn into pink.
Are you taking beta carotene ?
How do you reduce oxidation stress?
Attacking the cause, or the effect of both together.
The easiest way is attacking the effect, taking supplements: vitamins, minerals, trace nutrients and anti-oxidants (ALA, NAC, etc.),
I've just post a reading recommendation. Do you like reading?
Bty, I like the "both" strategy.
Kevin,
Do the homework and get information about oxidative stress.
Ruling this out helps the body a lot.
Not only for vitiligo, but any condition.
"Oxidative Stress: In essence, the same process that turns a cut apple brown or causes metal to rust is also causing our bodies to rust on the inside.". Dr. Ray D. Strand
Is it on the finger tips?
Is it around the joints?
Is it spreading?
Cuticle area, both index finger knuckles. large area on right index nuckle, rest of the spots are fairly small.
