Do you feel differently about family planning / parenthood since getting vitiligo? Mine started at 20 and affects about 30-40% of body. I have no idea how to help a child deal with vit when I havent accepted it myself. I know there are far worse things to manage but I am worried we or the child wouldn't cope if it was very bad , and I know also pregnancy can make it much worse. It is such a blessing to have a child and I feel bad to worry but I wouldn't want child to have a harder life because of me.

have you tried gluten free diet? try reading Susan Blum's 4 steps to immune system recovery. Might be worth a shot. then worry about passing it on to your children.
don't worry about statistics....there is absolutely no way of knowing if you will pass fit onto your unborn child. move on with your life..and use to faith to help you. no deserves this condition however there are fair worse things in life. be positive. easier said then done but its doable.
we don't know how our genes will pass on. no point in worrying about things you can't control.
It's a good point you have brought up because I feel terrible guilt every day knowing I passed vit on to my daughter of 18 she has issues and and blames me I think she hates me too, but I have another daughter now who is not two yet and she's already showing signs and I cry at night for her knowing what's ahead of her,my eldest stopped her hobbies dancing and swimming when she was 10, I don't know what the right thing to do but why let it stop you from an otherwise beautifull present from Mother Earth , hope this helps xx
That's great and really encouraging. Yes I agree graves / hashis not so big deal, treatable but also both can put unborn Baby at physical developt risk if not mAnaged exactly right, also risk other more serious autoimmune disease (I have 4) but The vitiligo - because of excess h2o2 (what causes vit) / lack of melanin also means higher risk of inheritance of bladder cancer i hAd which has 60 % 5 yr survival
rate. (Risk increases thru pregnancy). So it's not just about one ore two spots I have 40 of body And still moving. I want me and. Baby to have long healthy life.

Yeah, I do not want to have children. AFAIK there's about ~15% chance to pass on vitiligo to a child.

No, thank you. I've made my peace.

But there is, if the chance was low you could gamble it with a clean conscience, but when the chances are 1-in-7 not so much

Why on earth did you have another child after you saw first hand the effects on your first child?
