Hey everyone --
Has anyone with eyebrow alopecia ever considered eyebrow transplant surgery?
About 10 or so months ago, I began "white-ing" in my right eyebrow. I would dye it periodically, but within no time, my hair began thinning/falling out out. (I'm sure dying my hair hasn't helped my cause, but I don't think it's overly exasberated my condition.) At present time, I've lost at least 50% of my eyebrow, and I seem to lose a hair whenever the wind blows, haha.
I'm Italian, with dark features; and my left eyebrow is near-perfect, so it's really noticeable. I spend a considerable amount of time in the morning with an eyebrow pencil to try my best and match them before heading off to work, but it's getting harder and harder to do with each day.
So, all that said, I set up an appointment at New England Center for Hair Restoration for tomorrow to explore my options. Before doing so, I sent an e-mail explaining my circumstances/condition, and I received the following response:
"Thank you for contacting us. Yes, eyebrow transplantation could help you. We are also conducting stem cells for hair loss. That would be another option."
Here's their website: http://www.nehair.com/
Has anyone had any luck with this?

After a few rounds of steroid injections and an ongoing regiment of Pro-topic and Elidel, my right eyebrow is finally growing back, and the hair loss seems to have stabilized. I couldn't be happier. After having close to 1 eyebrow for an extended period of time, I felt like my white patches were no big fucking deal in comparison. This ordeal has definitely given me some perspective.
Still eating vegan/gluten-free and trying to sleep better; but I keep slipping on my water intake. I've been getting plenty of sun, which has lead to some repigmentation under my left eye. I'm happy about this -- but it's also just icing on the cake now that I practically have 2 full eyebrows again ;-)
Really happy for you!

Ish -- thank you!
I don't know about eyebrow transplants, but one of my dermatologists was always vocal about a higher concentration of melanin where hair follicles reside so I think this makes sense.
Some encouraging news:

Follicular unit transplant (FUT) is one of the surgical procedures which has been recently used to repigment a stable vitiligo patch. Single-hair FUT was done for a 30-year-old male with stable vitiligo patch on the upper lip. Repigmentation was noted in 4 weeks and complete pigmentation seen at 8 weeks. No recurrence was noted at the end of 6-month follow-up with excellent colour match. This case is presented to highlight the effectiveness of FUT in focal vitligo patch with leukotrichia.
Found some interesting dialogue here. Basedon this info, not sure how I'd be deemed a match.
