Hi All,
Does vitligo start as a slight whitish spot that gets whiter?
I have some white spots on the back of my leg and I've had a few more spots but they are not growing. The dermatologist said it could be vitligo as I have an uncle who has it but it could be idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis as it is just spots that I have had for one year.

I'm no doctor and I don't know what idiopathic guttate hypomelanosis is, but I guess just keep track of your spots and maybe your dermatologist will know later. Most of my spots start light and get whiter and some just start up white as far as I can tell. Hope that helps
I would like to encourage you. If it is not spreading over the years it is probably not vitiligo. But I advise you to keep an eye on that spots.
My vitiligo started as a slighty white patchces, that came out of nowhere, and I also had a problem with diagnosis, because my dermatologist was not sure if it is vitiligo (because of colour). But only after 10 days all that spots started spreading very fast. So there was no doubt it was vitiligo...
