  • I tried Jergens because the color is nice, but it doesn't seem to tan my vitiligo spots.

  • I had a couple of spray tans. I didn't like it, I came home sticky and had to sleep on towels to wait until the next morning to shower as they instructed. It did hide the vitiligo though I looked a bit yellow. It last maybe 2 weeks??

  • I've been using Nutrogena Micro Mist. It works pretty well, but has an awful smell. Another one I use is L'oreal Sublime Bronze self tanning lotion. This one is faster acting, but again, smells terrible. Both of these work pretty well at making my vitiligo a lot less noticeable. You'll want to be extra careful if using it on your hands. With the L'oreal, I squirt a few drops onto the back of my hand along with a few drops of regular moisturizing lotion and blend. Then I use baby wipes to wipe my palms, between fingers and especially around nails & cuticles. Self tanners tend to stick to dry skin, which is why the moisturizer is very helpful in keeping your knuckles from getting too dark. You will also want to use sparingly where the palm meets the wrist. The spray doesn't require as much work, but takes 4 hours to work and you can't get it wet during that time. This one is good to do before bed unless you sweat a lot in your sleep. Hope this helps :)
  • I have tried a liquid called chromelin complexion blender. I started about a week ago. The liquid goes on clear but tans to a pretty decent looking color, not too orange. I am light and I find that one application is enough for me. I saw an ad at the vitiligo website, decided to give it a try. Perhaps that is something you could try, not a spray on, applied with an applicator.
