As I shared previously, my 8 year old daughter was recently diagnosed with vitiligo. The dermatologist said we should do the following. I would love to hear if you agree with her advice.
1. Use EpiCeram cream all over the body (in addition to Elidel and Protopic on spots) to treat eczema on skin. She said the eczema could be causing or making the vitiligo worse.
2. Avoid hot showers.
3. Avoid fragrant soaps/lotions.
4. No eggs, strawberries, nuts or shellfish.
Also, do you have any recommendations on using any particular brand body soap or detergent? Or are these factors not related to vitiligo?
I appreciate your thoughts. Thank you so much.

Thank you to both Anders and FLAVIO for your responses. No, I don't see visible skin inflammation on my daughter's skin. But taking your advice and already made an appointment for an allergy test and will try out the soap you recommend. Thanks again!
Regarding food, you sould do an allergy test at www.ibstreatmentcenter.com (LA) and avoid what may potentially cause allergy (sometimes it's not visible, but internal). Also avoid those products mentioned as nightshades and the ones that have hydroquinone).
Shellfish and egg are classic high allergen products, as well as gluten and dairy.
Berries in general, for many reasons, are not good for vit sufferers.
Hot water stimulates visible skin inflammation. Skin inflammation may cause NSV (non-segmmntal vit). Does your daughter have visible skin inflammation?
I think it's very hard to say what type of food that should be avoided and not. There are many various thoughts about that and I have never heard that eggs and nuts should do anything negative?

Regarding soap, I recommend the following (Tulsi-Neem): http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p2047675.m570....

The soaps and lotions may be correct.
