Dermacolor and veil cover cream

Hi all,

Does anyone use dermacolor and veil cover up creams? You also have to apply a fixing powder which I have been doing, but boy does it get everywhere! I am literally having to walk like c-3po to make sure that I make contact with nothing!

It ends up all over my trousers, and anything I make accidental contact with. The inside of my car door is covered in the stuff! Is there any way to stop it from getting everywhere?

To be honest I am getting so annoyed with it that I think not having it on is actually better! It also does not last 3-4 days and is not waterproof!

  • Hey Mani,

I don't use camouflage anywhere other than on my face but you can get a spray fixative called Krayolan. Charles Fox sell it in London (theatre/TV makeup).

Dermablend etc don't last for longer than a day, to be honest with you. The only other thing close to Microskin I have come across is Take Cover which is meant to last a few days but its really expensive and because I haven't used them, I cannot say whether they are as effective. There are companies who are looking at developing better matching and longer lasting products for people with darker skin-so if anyone knows or hears of something that works for them, please share.

    Best wishes,

    Ish x

  • Do you mean Dermablend? My daughter has a port wine stain that covers half of her face and uses Dermablend and setting powder. It is waterproof but she has to apply it everyday. It covers beautifully, I can't find a shade that works for my vit. However, I use a shade as close as possible to my skin, then I spray Sally hansons hosiery spray over it and it covers nicely. I only do that once a year , in july, when I have to go to an event. My legs are always super tanned, which makes the tops of my feet look neon white and all that fights with my high heels.
