Does anyone have any good recipes for chickpeas (garbanzo beans)? It sounds like some people have had sucess with repigmentation after eating these. I've never had these and have no clue how to cook them. I'm ready to give them a try. Suggestions appreciated.

Hummus is made from chickpeas? I can't stand it.. but I did read a lady claiming that her son's repigmentation might be to do with him eating a lot of hummus as it's regularly eaten in their household. I don't know .....but it seems easy to make.
I like falafel so I'll try to find out how it's made (my friend mum is arab so she might know) and post the recipe. Mung bean sounds good too... if anything, it seems to have a lot of vitamins and minerals. Folate is folic acid
Next time you go to a Sri Lanka / Indian / Pakistani shop - ask for MUNG BEANS too.
"According to modern nutrition, mung beans offer 14 gms of protein per cooked cup. Mung beans are also a good source of dietary fiber. They also contain thiamin, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium and copper, and are a good source of folate."
Well.....as you know, we take Vitamin B12 and Folic Acid supplements to help with our Vitiligo. Both Chickpeas and Mung Beans are a good source of Folate,[which is the naturally-occurring form of Folic Acid!]
Chickpeas and Mung Beans also contain Copper - which helps produce melanin.
But please keep in mind that some of the food that contain folate and copper fall to the "do not eat" lists of some doctors. [Ex. Red meat, mushrooms!]
Firstly you have to get the black/darkbrown chickpeas from the Indian/Pakistani stores. Thats the one which is beneficial for vitiligo not the while colored garbanzo beans that you find in the regular grocery stores. You have to soak it overnight or for 6-8 hrs and then boil in with some salt. Pressure cooker is recommended. My husband likes to est it just plain with lots of black pepper powder sprinkled on it. It does taste good!! You can add it it to salads, make a hummus dip or else make the channa masala as someone else suggested. That goes well with rice and bread. Or else you can do a quite saute of onions and some cummin seeds, put in the cooked chickpeas and put some chopped cilantro.
