Hi all, I'm new to this site. I haven't yet been diagnosed with Vitiligo but I'm 99% sure I have it.
Since October last year a noticed a small white patch on my penis (base) I thought nothing of it but over time the latch has spread to various parts of my groin area. I'm really worried and cursing mysel for not going to the doctors sooner. Anyway I have my appointment on Friday where I'll be walking out my undercarriage for full inspection (eeeek) I'll keep you informed. If there is anyone else in here who has it in the groin area then I would appreciate your thoughts and advice. Thanks Ste. X

Speaking to various specialists and doctors, there is no general consensus on how aggressive the spread of Vitiligo is determined, how long it lasts and treatments on how to contain it. Furthermore, I know a few people with Vitiligo, including myself. The spread of mine was fairly aggressive initially in my infancy, and in my younger teenage years it was fairly stagnant and stopped (hopefully remains this way) and some spots began repigmentation. However, one person had it spread at a constant but slow rate until present, whereas another had his Vitiligo repigmentate as fast it as spread in the first place.
I hope this helps and good luck in your checkup !!!
Please do a research on steroid therapy, try keywords like oral mini pulse, predinsone.
I have read every clinical trial related to this treatment approach using steroids or immunesuppresants. on average, 80-90% of the cases can be stopped in around 16 weeks.
I am in your exact same position and started with steroids on 20-Feb. I am not sure if i can say it has stopped my vitiligo, i have days when i feel its spreading, on other days i feel nothing happend in the last months.. hard to describe.
Good luck and let me know should you ever need help.
