How come when I read about the most interesting cures or possible medicines for vitiligo it's always in some poor country half way around the world ? This one so-called doctor said he could cure me and make my pigmentation come back to over 95% but I would have to spend $ 8,000 for airfare hotel and other incidentials to fly half way around the world to get treatment for my vitiligo and this amount didn't include how much my medicine or treatments would cost which was another $ 1,000 dollars and what made it so bad was the simple fact that the doctor said I would have to fly out there at least six times to see if it's actually working this is one of the biggest scams out there people don't let your desire for a cure cloud your intelligence be wise because people out here just want your money because they know that some of us are desperate for a cure

You know Carl sometime I wonder about things like this. The other night I was looking at tv and this show was about people getting bit by poisnous insects and other animals. This one boy got bit by a spider and the only cure was in another country. The problem was, the FDA did not approve the cure here in the U.S. The dad had to transport the drug in illegally to help save his son's life. What does this have to do with vitiligo you may ask, Well I wonder if other countries might have a better treatment or a possible cure but we don't hear about it because the FDA don't approve it. Even in this case, you would think more people that are in this doctor's country would be "cured" first. Most of it are scams but sometime you still wonder.
I am not a medical expert. Hence, will talk on both side:
If it had not been for FDA, we would have had more effective Protopic "cream" by now. Due to warnings and other requirements, it was a huge huge expenditure for the company to battle against FDA. The company had to abandon the research on the cream. The only thing we have now is Protopic "ointment" which is oily and somewhat lesss, effective. This is an absolute fact. In life, we have to take risk. No Pain, No Gain.
On the other side of the coin, FDA is right as well. They have a duty to protect people from potential negative impacts.
