anybody been successful in keeping their vitiligo stable?

Has anybody been successful in keeping their vitiligo stable (no occurrence) of new patches for 6 months or more?

If so what steps have you taken?

ideally stabilizing the disease and then of course regimentation are ideal.

Recently noticed more patches which quickly turned white from pink.  Biggest focus now is to to stabilize and stop the spread.

  • ive used it for the past 10 yrs ! and it gets rid of the new spots coming up usually not always.  avoiding the sun is quite important because your body is fighting against your melanin and when you tan the melanin becomes more or darker and your immune system will try to kill it resulting in more white patches ..i hope its clear.

  • Thanks for the kind words!
  • how long have you been using protopic? has it removed all your spots? what damage does the sun do? I read to avoid the sun alot. Why?
  • yes possible do the following:

    avoid the sun.

    use sunblock

use protopic 12 hr gap....on the spots...protopic will remove all spots on your face in a few months and will help control and remove some spots on hands but maybe not all.......protopic suppresses your immune system and is effectively the only drug which controls it...anyway thats how i feel....i'm of course not saying that diff diets are effective and im sure they are im just not familiar with them and find them difficut....wish you luck my dear
