Hello! My dermatologist recently retired and I've been assigned to a new one who prescribed the Triamcinolone Acetonide (Protopic was irritating to my skin). Anybody have any experience with this cream?

That's good to know. I've already been using the triamcinolone for 6 days and I have no itching, burning or any kind of irritation so this feels better than Protopic on my skin. What I didn't remember was Elidel being irritating and I've started to develop what I could call some rough bumps on my skin so I'm not going to use it for today and maybe call the pharmacist if this continues.
It's a corticosteroid like Dermovate / Clobetasol.
From my experience, corticosteroids are actually harsher on the skin than the various immunomodulators like Tacrolimus (Protopic) and Pimecrolimus (Elidel).
Remember to use it for 2 weeks and then take a break for 1 week.
These days it seems like many dermatologists are recommending a rotation of 2 weeks of corticosteroids followed by 2 weeks of an immunomodulator.
I hadn't used Elidel or any creams for a long time and so yesterday was my first day using the Triamcinolone Acetonide and Elidel in the face area. So far my face feels more irritated than the parts where I used the Triamcinolone in my body which seems weird, I'll have to see how things progress during these next days.
