Any luck with treatment of vitiligo on hand fingers ?

I am taking Omega -3 , Folic Acid+ Multi vitamins and Liv 52 tablets.

Applying corticosteroid cream , found it effective on few spots after application for about 2 months , some of vitiligo spots dissapeared.

However no treatment is effective for hand fingers.... please share your experience and any treatment which helped in reversal process.

  • white spots on hands are not easy to heal in a short time because the blood circulation is not well on these parts.cell regeneration can give a good effect compared with the other treatment methods on hands.
    • yes sarah blood circulation is important and so is keratin which aids in melanin spread but anatomy of hand fingers is such that it is difficult to re-pigment on these areas. Am taking Biotin , Folic Acid , more of veggies and Lean protein diet (have cut down on fat whatever i used to intake at times) and Vit D3 tablets to rejuvenate ...

Health is good ... umm lets see ... will try and add up Yoga and Brisk Walking/Treadmill in regime to increase blood circulation.... am lazy bones ;)

Looking for some short cuts or specific solutions too that may have help .. :)

      take care,

  • i also take vit.B complex and folic acid,on and off,and exposed to natural sunshine between 8-9 am,for up to 30 minutes...and one thing to avoid is stress and have enough sleep.
    • yup yup sunlight is important... agree it does help :)

am not regular though in this regime .. will try to...thx

  • based on my experience,i avoid eating sour foods, all citrus fruits and that my vitiligo stops its progression, and avoid scratching too cos it may begin another spot after scarring.
  • I am also having a hard time repigmenting my hands, fingers and palm.. but i see results in my elbows, knees, legs and my chest, also nape area, using aloe vera gel.now that i run out of aloe vera gel,i am using ginger root juice,i dont know if anybody would believe me,but nothing to loose if somebody would try,a very inexpensive herbal remedy...
    • oh yes iv also heard about using aloe vera but havnt tried it. Some pharmist suggest me to crush aloe vera under my feet till the time my mouth becomes bitter dont understand logic though :)
  • is it true that dermovate is better to use in our vitiligo esp in areas that are hard to repigment?
  • hi..right now i do have the same prob.,my hand and finger are not yet repigmenting unlike my others parts of the body..i am using UVB theraphy but on my feet and hand are very slow to discover the result..right now i do take also vit b complex..anything that is still better than b complex?
