Hi all,

It seems to be a common acceptance that vitiligo is an auto-immune disorder, and stress seems to tax our immune systems.  What I'm wondering if it matters what KIND of stress.  Physical/emotional?  The reason I ask is I had close to no vitiligo before training for a marathon.  Once done training, I had lots and lots of spots!  Yowza!  I'm heading into training for triathlons next year, and wondering if my vit will act up again ...

Thoughts?  Experiences?  Comments?  Love to hear 'em all!

Cheers,
h

  • I see the same thing. I have begun running for my health and I have new spots cropping up symmetrically all over my hands and wrists. No big deal. I'm white. But to control the spots, perhaps running marathons ought to be rolled back to something more like speed-walking. Unless you'd rather just take the dots and run. That's what I'm doing.
