Any good makeup?

Hey all--- I was wondering if anyone has any makeup recommendations. I have a little vitiligo under my eyes which I can usually cover with a darker makeup. I'm also looking for new self tanners to try. Thanks.

  • I use "cover fx" makeup, here is the link: http://www.coverfx.com/medfx/vitiligo.php
I didnt really have luck with dermablend, so I can't say much for that brand. I've used cover fx for a while now and i like it! However, instead of using their trans. powder, I prefer "Laura Mercier" Translucent loose setting powder. It also helps lipstick stay on longer, even after drinking or eating...Well, that's what has worked for me. =)
    • I just recently bought cover FX, my Makeup artist friend tried it on me and it looked good at the time but i have trouble with the application it doesnt look as she made it. Dermablend seems to look the best for me and is much easier for me to apply. I havent gotten it a 100 pecent down yet. Its tough being a guy and learning how to wear makeup at 25. Any tips on not getting makeup on everything other than just setting powder?
      • yeah, the first time i used cover fx, the makeup artist from that makeup line actually showed me how to apply it.I had to work with diff shades, but one thing i found really made a difference was the primer called v-pak. i apply it before the makeup, its a process and time consuming, but it works. have you tried the tran powder i mentioned above? its about $30 and it really helps set the make-up. good luck!
  • I have tried both DermaBlend and Mac. I like the Mac because it feels lighter, but it does not stay long. I believe the DermaBlend has better lasting power. I have spots around my mouth, after eating or drinking the MAC is gone, but the DermaBlend will mostly be there still.
    • do you use the dermablend or Mac on your hands?? if so does it work well for you??
  • Hi! Don't about self tanners, but I always use DermaBlend Cover Creme (www.dermablend.com) for my vitiligo. It works marvelously in my skin. It can be a little tricky to find the right shade, but they have a return policy, which I would recommend reading first. (http://www.dermablend.com/customerservice/returnpolicy.aspx) I started using this product because Macy's had a counter with free samples, but unfortunately this is not provided anymore. However, the last time I bought the wrong shade and was able to return it without any trouble.

Also, TV anchor Lee Thomas has mentioned MAC products on his interviews as a good makeup resource. I believe it was on the Larry King Show.

    Hope this helps!
